Six Months Old

Oliver went for his 6 month check-up. The doctor gave him an A+ for development. He is in the 90th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height. We're so thankful he is fat and happy!

The other night we were able to capture Oliver talking with his Daddy- cute stuff!

Day at the Aquarium

So yesterday we headed out to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher with Gran, Grandaddy, Aunt Catherine and Cousins Will & Wyatt. We had a great time. Oliver was mesmerized by all the pretty colors and fish. I'm sure we'll be making many more visits in the years to come!

Oliver's cousin Will and Gran. I think this photo looks like it could be in a brochure.
Good job, Andrew :)

Oliver and Grandaddy looking at the tank that holds Nemo. This is the Pacific Rim Exhibit that is in honor of Jim. He was the director of the Aquarium for over 20 years. I think he had a good time showing Oliver around for his first visit.

This is Oliver's newest cousin (and closest in age) Wyatt! We were so excited to finally meet him. He was given us some smiles. He is so precious.

You can't really see it but behind Andrew is a memorial for his mom, Hope Baldwin Lanier. She would have loved to have met Oliver. We just wanted to pause and capture the moment.

Beach w/ the Phelps

We hit the beach on Sunday with our friends DJ and Sherry and their two boys. We have been trying to go to the beach with them for over a year. Something unexpected has foiled our plans every single time but, on Sunday we made it happen. It was a wonderful beach day. Jacob played with the bucket while the babies slept side by side in the tent. They slept in the exact same position- how cute?

PS- Check out OT's pot belly :)

Shaunna's Shower

Shaunna (in the yellow) is marrying Sam Kennedy this July. We are so excited to welcome her to Wilmington and the Young Life Family. She might be the most enthusiastic gift opener I have ever met!

The Bride-to-be and the hosts

The Yogurt Parfaits were a big hit. They looked really beautiful and summery. It was Liz's idea to do the parfaits because we got all the yogurt on sale during triples at Teeter. You know how we love our coupons. You know a good deal and a good party just go hand in hand.

Oliver and I dance almost everyday.
He has a vice grip- my nose did recover

The Carpenters spent a few nights with us while they waited to move into their new house. Lily Kate and I had a blast playing dress up. She was really rockin the red high heels :)

Founder's Day @ Church

Oliver with the Preacher's Wife- the amazing Nancy Phillips

Each June at our church we celebrate Founder's Day. I can't believe in the past 7 years how our church has grown. It was really special to celebrate in our new building. We feel so blessed by our church family.

This was OT's first time on his daddy's shoulders. He decided he would make a snack out of his hair.  Don't you just love the madras pants?

We have so many pictures of Lily Kate that I wanted to take some with her lil sis Charlotte. Charlotte is just so precious...if she only knew she is already in an arranged marriage to our little Mr. Lanier.

Founder's Day @ Church Part 2

Liz and Lily Kate

The Swings- some of our favorite new friends- they are hilarious! Tim is the dentist who became the wisdom tooth fairy for me...thanks Dr. Tim for saving me from oral disaster!

Sweet embrace

John Gayle and his family are back from seminary for the summer. John is interning at CCC. We are so glad they are back- we love their family so much. We took this picture b/c people are always mistaking Andrew for John and vice-a-versa. At times, John's kids have even run up to Andrew and grabbed his leg and then realized that wasn't their dad. I don't think they look that much alike but I guess to a kid...

Holt is another medical angel. He and his wife set Andrew and I up on our first date. Holt also was the amazing anesthesiologist who gave me that miracle epidural, which led to a much more pleasant birth. Holt really got some laughs out of OT.

On the Porch

I couldn't resist posting this picture of his baby fat cleavage :)

When I am out in the yard working I put Oliver in his exersaucer on the screen porch. I turn on the fan which provides endless entertainment. What I tried to get a picture of is when he leans all the way back to see the fan- it is really cute. If I catch it on camera, I'll post the pic.
