HE'S HERE!!!

Yesterday, 12-23-08 we welcomed Oliver Thomas Lanier into the world. He was born at 2:16pm and was 7lbs., 10oz. and 22 inches long. He is a healthy boy and cute as can be. He came right in time to wear all his Christmas gear. You know you'll be seeing some of that soon.
We went to our appointment today and during the exam my water broke. We immediately came to the hospital. Once at the hospital labor really started! As the contractions grew more painful it seemed like I might not get an epidural in time. It was some kind of pain.
Then we called our dear friend Holt Evans, who set Andrew and I up on a blind date. We wouldn't have made it to this day without him. He said to call when we were at the hospital and we did. He drove from Ogden to do anesthesia for me. It was Holt who made all the difference in our birthing experience. He really was the hero of the day. Thank God for pain medication & anesthesiologists!
With the pain gone I started pushing at 12:20. Oliver was born at 2:16. The labor went well. Oliver took a little extra help to come out because he was crooked in the birth canal. His first burst of crying was wonderful, I'll never forget it! There were lots of happy tears around the room.
It was such a wonderful day. We are so blessed and praise God for the blessing of new life. We can't believe we are parents! Our hearts are full of gratitude. What a special time of year to welcome our first born son into the world. Thank you for all your love and prayers. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas full of celebrating what really matters.
