Lanier Landing

So Oliver had more seizures after my last post so we decided to call the ped. neurologist that is on call at UNC (since it was after hours). The resident (after calling the attending-on-call) told us to increase the dose of the old med (Tegretol), before Oliver went to bed and increase the dose of the new med in the AM. So we did as we were told. About 10 minutes ago, our actual dr. called to say that he speculates the increased dose of Tegretol this morning probably caused Oliver's seizures today. Apparently, if someone takes too much anti-convulsive medication it can actually cause seizures...now ain't that crazy? So...he told us not to give Oliver Tegretol again and stay with the original plan he gave me. This, my friends, is the reason we are going to Boston. It is so frustrating and scary to think we were given bad info particularly related to something this serious. Our dr. did say to email him from now on because he checks it multiple times an hour and that is the most direct way to reach him...duly noted.
