Andrew here subbing for Steph as she decorates the room. She is quite the nester.
Here are the first pictures we could get of Oliver just out of surgery. He looks a lot better than we expected, although we have been warned that this will not last. Fluid will swell the left side of his face and shut his left eye by tomorrow. He will look quite rough, and feel even worse. He is currently under the prolonged effects of the narcotics (even to an excessive amount, as Dr. Duhaime is a bit concerned about him being "narcotized").
We pray for a relatively uneventful night, interrupted only by the hourly vitals check by the wonderful PICU nurses.
Here they are just starting to attach the leads (15 in all) from his head to the machine that records the seizure activity. BRING ON THE SEIZURES!!
Please pray for good rest tonight, no infection, no bleeding, no excessive fluid leaks and Oliver to be agreeable with the head wrap, etc.
If we haven't said it today. We LOVE you!
We sign off tonight feeling very thankful to God for His blessings today. We continue to feel His presence and peace.
