In the midst of difficulty, we want everyone to know about the little (and not so little) things that have been big blessings to us during this time.
I mentioned Melanie on an earlier post. Her son, Oliver also has TSC. She and I connected only two weeks ago and she has been SO GOOD to us!
In our first phone call, she casually offered us a one month membership to Sports Club/LA where she works in their corporate headquarters. This is a very swanky health club, which has a deck overlooking Boston Commons and an over 120,000 square foot exercise room. It is almost beyond belief, and we get to use it!
We went for a tour and shower a few days ago, and returned yesterday for our first workout. What a stress-reliever it has been. They have awesome showers that are big and stocked with all the toiletries you might need. The showers are big enough to do jumping jacks in which is a major luxury in a town starved for space. They also have this great steam/eucalyptus room. I almost fell asleep in there today.
A wonderful walk around the corner and through the park gets us there (about 15 minutes from the hospital). It was such a blessing to be able to get out in the fresh air and let the grandparents take a turn with wild man :)
After our workout and shower, Andrew and I ended our excursion with “Upper Crust” pizza on Charles Street. This is a Bostonian favorite that we have grown to appreciate. It is so yummy I wish I could send you a piece right through the screen.
We are still waiting to hear from the Operating Room (it is 10:45) so I am assuming the surgery is going to start later than 11. I saw that coming :)
It is hard to believe this day has finally come. Within the next few days we'll begin to see if Oliver is indeed part of that Miracle Half I wrote about a few weeks ago...please join us in praying he is!
