Today
I have guest blogger! Jonathan Stephens is an old friend from my UNCW
days. He and some friends have started a company called Zeek that
helps fund raise. He has partnered with Oliver's awesome preschool,
The Child Development Center, to help them raise money for a
playground renovation. If you'd like to help us raise money for this very worthy cause, buy yourself a Zeek
account....the link is on the bottom and under "cause" choose The Child Development Center.
Did I mention I am the President of the newly formed PTA at his preschool? I am honored to get the word out about this outstanding place for children with special needs and their typically-developing peers.

"It
was during my time as a volunteer Young Life leader at Laney High
School and a student at UNCW that I met Stephanie Lanier and we have
remained friends since college. My wife Amanda and I continue to
stay up to date with the Lanier family and are frequent readers of
this blog. As parents of a three-year-old girl named Cami and a
six-month-old son named Noah, we know how incredibly precious our
children are and the blessing they are in our lives. We have a
strong emotional connection to Stephanie’s story and admire their
incredible journey with Oliver.
As
someone who has worked for a non-profit for four years, I know
raising money is not an easy task! Fortunately, now there is an
answer for how to raise more money with less effort and I am so
excited to partner with the Child Development Center to show you how!
Three
other dads and I founded a start-up last year called Zeek
(www.getzeek.com). The idea is
simple: become the world’s first completely mobile coupon
fundraiser to help fundraisers raise more with less effort. What does
that even mean?
Think
of the paper coupon book that schools, churches, and non-profits sell
to raise money...now eliminate the paper. Zeek is a 100% mobile &
online coupon app, working on any smartphone or computer. Our
fundraiser groups (CDC!) sell one-year memberships to Zeek, loaded with
thousands in local savings, instead of selling individual books. Each
membership is $25 with the fundraiser earning 50% of every sale.
Without the logistics of the books, Zeek really brings “ease-ability”
to fundraising as well as accessibility to every Zeek member. The
deals are always at your fingertips, never lost, forgotten, in your
spouse’s car, or hidden under the sofa by your offspring (psst -
it’s next to the sippy cup). To make it even easier, CDC will
still get $12.50 for every member that renews his or her account next
year; Fundraising doesn’t get any easier than that!
