Wildcats Homecoming

On Friday night we went to the New Hanover High School Homecoming Game. I wanted to go to see some of the kids I work with at the WIRE Center. Many of them are in the marching band and one is a football player. It was so fun to see the band members perform- it brought back so many happy memories from my band days! It was a rather nostalgic night for me :)

Oliver was enthralled from start to finish. We were at the game until 9:30 which is very late by his standard. He really loved playing in the football tunnel that led onto the field. He was so cute as he sat on Andrew's shoulders and danced to the band music. He was certainly more into the band warm up than the football game. It sort of made this band nerd a little bit proud :)

Annie, Brandon and Levi- super fun family! Oliver and Levi had a blast dancing and throwing their toy football on the sidelines. Annie and I work together at WIRE. She is adored by a slew of high school kids who know that she geniunly cares for them. She is a light in the dark places of these teens' lives and we need more poeple like her in this world!

Two of these beautiful girls are in my College Club at WIRE. When they come afterschool I always give their flags a twirl or two and it makes me feel 16 again.

The kid loves to dance. Doesn't matter where, when he hears the music, he shakes it!

The night wouldn't have been complete without a picture with local legend, and junior high classmate of Andrew, Ricky Meeks. If you live in Wilmington, you know Ricky.
