Happily Confused

Oliver has been seizure free since Thursday!!! His language has exploded and his fun, toddler antics are back too! He has said all those things that we thought he might have lost....including "I love you." Well, he sort of sings it but, we can tell that is what it is. We are thankful but, we are also confused by this. On Wednesday we had a non-verbal child who was crawling multiple times a day. Today he is doing as well as he has in months! Hmmm....what does all this mean? I suppose the overall lesson is that Oliver can swing from doing very poorly to doing very well in a matter of a few days. The key is long-term seizure freedom! Although he has had wonderful times like this before, the seizures have always returned somewhere around 5-10 days. We're just trying to savor the day and not get too far ahead of ourselves.

That leads me to the Boston trip. We are all packed up and ready to go. We have the house-sitter and other details sorted out. We are ready to get up there and sort out all this craziness.

On a totally different note I finally read the EEG report from 4/26/11. Oliver still had those slow spike wave patterns. His current development boom makes that hard to reconcile. We wanted a normal EEG. Again, Boston is the right place to be to unravel what in the world is going on with him and get (some) answers to our questions.

Thank you for coming on this journey with us. We feel like we have a small army on "The O-Team". Thank you, it is an honor to have your support.

Here are some photos from our church's annual Founder's Day Celebration. It is always a fun time. We love the folks at our church so very much. They really are so good to us and constantly remind us of God's love and care. What a blessing!

 Charlotte Carpenter...playing hide-n-seek with Andrew.

Mark Anderson during a game. Can you believe he didn't win?

Liz teaching June Thomas to stick her tongue out. Cute.

Oliver and Baby Hugh. They had quite a connection. It was so sweet to watch Oliver interacting with him.

DJ & Sherry with Baby Matthew. He is newest baby at Christ Community Church. Welcome new little buddy!

Love this face Oliver makes. Eye brows up, sweet smile, dimples showing on his cheeks, makes my heart melt every single time.
